An objectionable Twitter poll by Amit Malviya, head of BJP’s IT cell, has created a stir. Malviya conducted this Twitter poll against senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, on which the Editors Guild including many veterans have also expressed their displeasure. On this Twitter poll of Malaviya, people expressed their displeasure over this.
Amit Malviya wrote in a Twitter poll from his official Twitter handle that whether Rajdeep Sardesai should handle the PR of terrorist organization Islamic State (IS). After this poll, there was a lot of uproar on social media. The Editors Guild also asked Malaviya to remove this pole and asked the BJP to warn Malaviya on this.

The Editors Guild said in a statement that the Twitter poll of Amit Malaviya was not only lewd but it also questioned the patriotism and unity of Rajdeep Sardesai. Rajdeep Sardesai has been the former president of the Editors Guild. The Editors Guild asked Amit Malviya to immediately remove this Twitter poll and also requested the BJP to warn Malaviya. Rajdeep Sardesai, while welcoming the support of the Editors Guild, wrote that I thank my fellow journalists. I have no problem with Amit Malviya. We can end this issue. This is a time for dialogue. I will send my new book as a New Year gift to Amit Malviya
In fact, on 29 December, Amit Malviya, the head of BJP’s IT cell, had conducted a poll on his official Twitter handle, in which he wrote that Rajdeep Sardesai should handle the PR of IS. People on social media also disliked this tweet by Malaviya. After the uproar, the Editors Guild also came out in support of Rajdeep Sardesai. It was said on behalf of the guild that the tweet of the head of the BJP IT cell also questions the party’s commitment to a healthy debate.
